SPITI - THE MIDDLE LAND

The Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalaya mountains in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name "Spiti"means "The Middle Land", i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti valley is a research and cultural centre for Buddhists. Highlights include Key Monastery and Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the world and a favourite of the Dalai Lama. It was the location of the scenery and cinematography in the Indian films Paap, Highway and Milarepa.

DAY 01. – Chandigarh to Shimla (4 Hours -130Kms )

Pickup from Chandigarh Airport.

Transfer to Shimla.

Overnight stay at Shimla.


DAY 02. –Shimla to Sangla (8 Hours-230Kms )

En-route Sangla

Wake up early and start your journey to Sangla/Rackham.

Enroute enjoy the beauty of Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur and Taranda Dhank.

Small Halt at Sangla Village, Visit Local Temple if time permits.

Overnight stay at Sangla /Rakcham.


DAY 03. – Sangla/Rakcham to Nako (6-7 Hours -165Kms )

Nako Village

Wake up early and visit Chitkul before breakfast.

This is the last village of Indo-China border, also famous for the cleanest air in India.

Spend some quality time at river bank.

Further, after breakfast start your journey to Nako Village.

En-route Pooh, Chango and Khab Sangam.

Stop at khab sangam to witness confluence of Spiti and Satluj River.

Reach Nako, which is a small village besides a small lake called Nako Lake.

After check-in visit Village which is built with Mud, stones and Woods.

If time permits hike to wind prayer wheel site.

Overnight stay at Nako village.



DAY 04. –Nako to Mudh (7 Hours-150Kms )With Sightseeing

Gue Mummy

Wakeup early. After breakfast start your journey to Mudh Village.

En-route Visit Gue Village which is famous for 500 years old Mummy.

After that Visit 1000 years old Tabo Monastery , which is built with Mud and Stones.

Then halt at Dhankar Village famous for Dhankar monastery. Also gives the very beautiful view of confluence of Spit and Pin River.

Visit Dhankar lake which is accessible by a short hike of around 25 mins. (If time and lungs permit) .

Further , start your journey for Pin valley national park. Famous for wildlife and extremely beautiful landscapes besides Pin river.

Overnight stay at Mudh village(Last village of Pin Valley.)


DAY 05. – Mudh to Kaza (Kms ) (3 Hours-60Kms )

Start leisurely. Roam around village , interact with people and know about their life.

Further, start your journey to Kaza. En-route Kaza you can stop at various photographic spots .

Reach Kaza. After check in , roam around Kaza. Famous for its market and various cafes.

Overnight stay at Kaza.


DAY 06. –Kaza – Hikkim -Komic- Langza (3-4 Hours 50Kms ) with Sightseeing

Hikkim Village

After breakfast visit Kaza Monastery and Market.

After that start for Highest altitude villages, Hikkim and Komic.

Hikkim known for Highest altitude Post-office in the world, post letters or postcards to your loved ones.

Then visit Komic village which is also highest motor able village. Visit very beautiful 14th century Monastery.

Later come back to Langza village. Which is the most beautiful village of Spiti valley.

Lansgza is famous for large Buddha statue , fossils and traditional home stays.

Overnight stay at Langza Home Stay.

DAY 07. –Langza-Key – Kibber- Chandratal (6-7Hours -130Kms )with Sightseeing

Start Early. After breakfast start your journey for Chandratal lake.

En-route visit Key Monastery. Largest Monastery of Spiti valley.

It’s a religious training centre for lamas.

Further visit Kibber village.

Kibber is small village and is take off point for the popular trek to Tso Moriri in Ladakh.

After that Visit Chicham bridge which is Asia’s highest suspension bridge.

Stop at Losar village for lunch ,which is the last village of Spiti valley.

Visit Kunzum Pass and Temple , situated at an altitude of 4551 mtrs .

Reach Chandrataal till evening. Check in to the Camps.

Visit lake if time permits or visit early morning before breakfast.

Overnight at camps.


DAY 08. – Chandratal to Manali (4-5 Hours -120Kms )

Wake early and visit Chandratal lake .

After breakfast start your journey for Manali.

It’s the most exciting offroad journey. There is no proper roads as the rough roads are made on riverbed.

Stop at famous Chacha Chachi Dhaba for quick tea snacks break.

After that Batal –Gramphu journey is the most exciting offroad journey.

Through Atal tunnel reach manali. Which is about 9 kms long.

Overnight stay at Manali .


DAY 9. – Manali to Chandigarh (8-9Hours-320Kms )

After breakfast start your journey to Chandigarh.

Drop at Airport

Trip Ends with beautiful memories.DAY 01. – Chandigarh to Shimla (4 Hours -130Kms )

Pickup from Chandigarh Airport.

Transfer to Shimla.

Overnight stay at Shimla.

Itinerary is subjected to change and is flexible due to any circumstances which are beyond our control like road blocks /natural calamities and strikes.

Kindly note this terrain is a quite different as compared to any Himalayan region. Road distances take bit longer time to reach destination.

Rooms sizes and views will be different at different places and may be different at same hotel.

In case of any natural calamity resulting in rerouting transportation charges or any accommodation not mentioned in inclusion will be additional and change in itinerary will be subject to availability

Buffer day due to any above or any other reason will be charged extra on per day avg. cost of total package cost.
