ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer from Chandigarh Airport  to Mashobra. Overnight in Mashobra.

Mashobra is a small town located about 11 kilometers from Shimla that can easily be covered in about 30-40 minutes. It is a popular tourist like its nearby towns of Shimla and Kufri. At an average elevation of 2,146 meters (7,041 feet), it is surrounded with a dense forest of pine, oak, Himalayan Deodar, and rhododendron. In winter, it receives a significant amount of snow each year. Though it is in close proximity with Shimla, Mashobra does not really get crowded as much making it a perfect destination for someone looking to spend some time away from the crowd.

Day 2: Transfer to Tirthan. Overnight  in Tirthan valley homestay. The  Great Himalayan National Park

Fascinating deciduous forests of spectacular green interspersed with quaint little villages by the Tirthan river make this valley one of Himachal’s favourite weekend getaways.

Stunning backdrops and fantastic camping, trekking and fishing opportunities make this the perfect holiday. The gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Tirthan  valley is the ideal base for some incredible adventure tourism and angling .Untouched and free from tourist influx and commercialisation,

Gada Gushaini and Kauli represent the essential soul of every Himachali village. Not the ideal place you could find hotels or big restaurants, these villages have but a few shops that serve basic food and snacks. Connections to the main road, however, ensure the villages do have shops selling electronics, pesticides and groceries etc., catering to villages nearby. Unexplored and naturally beautiful, Gada Gushaini and Kauli are worth a visit if only to just enjoy the serenity and silence of the mountains they lie in. Drive in the shade of tall trees through hamlets that lie beside clear streams. Stop for a moment to listen to the sound of silence as you marvel at the beauty of the valley.

Day 3: Drive to Jalori Pass (till snow point). Drive to Sarchi village. Trek to Serolsar lake (5 km inside, 2hours -1 way) .Overnight in Tirthan Valley

A high mountain pass, the Jalori pass height is at an altitude of 10,282 ft and is a must trip for every adventure lover. One of the most challenging pass to cross in the high Himalayan regions, this pass checks out every tick box for a road trip. A bumpy ride, the way to the top is both challenging and risky. This is the first Indian pass that opens every year that is drivable by vehicles and this pass remains closed in peak winters. What makes this pass what it is, is that it is a nodal point of connecting many high Himalayan valleys including Kullu Valley, Shimla Valley, Tirthan Valley, and Kinnaur Valley.

Day 4: Choie Waterfall Trek + Day trip to Shoja and birding tour . Overnight in Tirthan Valley

Chhoie Waterfall in Tirthan Valley can be reached through a short trek of 3 km walk that begins from Village Nagini which takes about 1 hour. The waterfall is named after local deity Chhoi Mata and locals come to worship the goddess at one of the trees before the waterfall.

Tirthan Valley alongwith Great Himalayan National Park is home to 200+ species of birds and is where experienced bird watchers arrive for special pheasants like Cheer Pheasant, Kaleej and Koklas and Tragopan.

Some of the more commonly found birds include Grey treepie, Red and Yellow-billed blue magpie, Black-throated tit, White capped redstart, Plumbeous redstart, Brown dipper etc.

Day 5: Transfer to Kasol enroute visit Manikaran. Overnight in Kasol

Parvati river and the  valley are both stunning. Kasol though is now the hub of tourism so there is that loud speakers and Delhi Punjus and Israeli hippie tourists in the past (but not this year –Thanks to THE virus) But the gurgling Parvati river and the beauty of its location plus the small Cafes do make for a different non small town atmosphere.  It is definitely worth a visit!
